Society as a whole is facing unprecedented challenges. One of them is the growing gap in spaces where intergenerational discourse can take place openly.

Our starting point is open cartography of possible places and experiences to bridge generations and people together. We will collect local examples of participants’ own places and experiences: hackerspaces, barbershops, dance salons. After a face-to-face conversation using Post-its, we’ll create a data model from the co-design exercise and share a website. No technology expertise needed, but we’ll take the prototype to human scale tech using micro-wikis, mobile phones, and pocket infrastructures.

From the experience and knowledge gained in the workshop, we will work to embody the spirit of republica through discourse, collaborative formats, intergenerational storytelling, action-oriented outcomes and knowledge sharing to strengthen our communities and build global cohesion across generations X, Y and Z!

This programme session is supported by Stiftung Mercator and the State of Berlin – State Office for development co-operation (LEZ).
