Biography: Jaspreet Singh was born in Safidon City, Haryana State, India. He received his B.Tech degree in 2010 from Kurukshetra University in Electronics and Communication Engineering, located in Kurukshetra, India. He did his master's in technology at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), HP, India, in the field of electronics and communication engineering, with wireless communication as his research domain in 2013. He has worked for 8 months in the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), which comes under the Ministry of Communication & IT (MCIT), Government of India, which is the main source of funding for all the research projects in India. After that he had joined Infonet Lab under Prof. Abhay Karandikar of the Electrical Engineering Department of IIT Bombay, India. He had worked in cost optimization in cellular networks, where there was a need for a data acquisition system. He had worked on designing the hardware of the system and got the technology patented. He is now working in the field of TV White Space technology and exploring the combination of the available wireless technologies to provide affordable internet services to the rural areas of India. His research interests remain in the design and development of low-cost-based solutions in the wireless domain. He is currently the core team member of the Gram Marg project, which won the Mozilla Open Innovation Challenge, in which he helped in the deployment of the devices in the Palghar Test Bed. Now, he is also an entrepreneur and owns a start-up company, Kirat Communications Private Limited, which is working to provide low-cost, affordable internet services in the rural areas.

Summary
At this workshop participants will explore how traditional techniques can produce items that will be difficult to differentiate whether the item was designed with a machine or by hand. We will bring items and materials to demonstrate techniques in creating items from the beginning.
