re:claim Business
Throughout the three days of the festival, as well as on a special theme day on 20 May, we will be exploring the following questions through keynotes, talks and discussions: Is it possible to rethink the economy in a new way at a time when established economic structures are being challenged and dismantled, and when companies are under pressure to transform and compete? Can we develop innovations that are sustainable and, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, ethically grounded and designed with society’s best interests in mind? We want to know: Which companies are taking responsibility when it comes to strengthening our democracy, and how do entrepreneurs define their role in this?
You can look forward to analyses of the current state of the German economy with Marcel Fratzscher, President of the German Institute for Economic Research, and a discussion on the militarisation of technological infrastructure with Aya Jaff, author and entrepreneur. Ian Harrison, CEO of A2IM, will explore the future of the music business and the impact of AI on the business models of independent music labels. Carsten Jung, Associate Director for Economic Policy and AI at the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), Frederike Kaltheuner, an expert and consultant on emerging technology, policy and rights, and Elisabeth Nöfer from the Mercator Foundation will discuss the European Union’s AI industrial policy and how the expansion of AI infrastructure can deliver genuine social value. We delve deeper into issues surrounding working life. Things even get very personal when Marina Schakarian talks to Kevin Kühnert, Kristina Lunz and Jörg Wagner about ‘quitting’ and about endings in working life.
“Is everything apolitical?!” – We’ll be kicking off our special “re:claim Business” theme day on 20 May with this question on Stage 7.
