#rp26 speaker Jan Kus: Just setting up my twttr

Twitter – without ads, algorithms, and Elon? The CEO and founder has turned many people's dream into reality with the help of AI.

With just 140 characters and “What are you doing right now?” as the only prompt, Jan Kus has struck a nerve: In just a few days, the founder and CEO recreated the 2006 version of Twitter with Claude Code. Free from “psychological pressure and constant advertising.” Because he’s convinced that social media should serve self-expression, not profit maximization. Instead of ads and algorithms, chrrp.eu (formerly twttr.eu)offers a strong community spirit, short replies, and above all: a feeling of nostalgia.

Initially all of this was intended as an April Fools’ joke but just a few weeks later, the X alternative already has more than 1,000 users. And they have big goals: Together, they want to post 260,000 tweets by re:publica 26! To find out if they succeed, you’ll have to wait (or join!) for #rp26.
