Andrea Goetzke works as a curator and cultural producer in Berlin. Across music, discourse, radio and experimental & participatory formats she explores cultural and social questions, narratives, structures and collective practices, and how things can be imagined otherwise. She is passionate about creating and hosting hospitable spaces for inspiration and encounter.

Andrea currently prepares a programme on PLANT STORIES at ZK/U in Berlin this summer, together with Lina Brion. Among her recent projects (2023) are the series Rehearsing Moves on Hazy Paths at ZK/U, and the Sound Lab for Fluid Ways of Knowing, together with Okhiogbe Omonblanks Omonhinmin. Previously in 2022, she realized the series Towards a Shimmer on the Horizon exploring possibilities of post-capitalist desires, worked on the production of the exhibition Other Minds/Screen City Biennial at the observatory in Treptower Park, and participated with her project PicnicFM in the Citizenship of ZK/U for documenta 15. Over the years, she curated various sessions and sections for re:publica at the intersection of music x technology.

Andrea is co-founder of Music Pool Berlin, a project to support musicians on their professional paths, and organizes monthly discussions and artist meetups. She co-curated a programme on COLLECTIVE PRACTICES at Kunsthaus ACUD during the pandemic. She organized Torstraßenfestival, a music festival with a focus on the Berlin music scenes for 10 years. Andrea has worked as a curator and moderator with Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Loop Summit for Music Makers, re:publica in Accra and Berlin, the Goethe Institute and many more. With all2gethernow e.V. she organized conferences on music culture and business for many years. Andrea hosts the radio show Beyond on the German online radio station ByteFM, and occasionally plays music related to that sound in public.

Andrea has a background in both digital culture and environmental studies. She worked on open source approaches, open culture and questions of Internet & society – as a curator, consultant and organizer. She worked on several projects with partners in different countries of the African continent, as well as with the United Nations. Her thesis at university was on tropical ecology.
