How can we create beautiful hardware that supports local resilience and techno-social synergies within shared manufacturing spaces espousing open innovation and community building? Let us rethink open innovation with New European Bauhaus values by merging maker practices, design, engineering, crafts and artistic intervention to co-produce sustainable products for society and a better future.

This workshop, rooted in the Horizon Europe project LAUDS Factories, addresses the European challenge of enhancing urban and creative factories to support a transition to more local sustainable production. Participants will explore how linking art, technologies and shared manufacturing labs supports New European Bauhaus values and collaboration in their innovation ecosystem. The aim of the workshop is to bring together different communities (creatives, artists, makers, practitioners, public actors and researchers, etc.) to reflect together on the needs and opportunities in terms of acceleration and scaling-up towards a transformation for localised & urban manufacturing.
